The Quay Coronet seniors started in 1975 when some of the original girls got to old for Juniors. We recruited back some of the older girls and any friends with two arms and two legs who we could transform into dancers! We practiced hard and soon joined the Juniors on the winning platform. We have had many successes through the years Dancing with The carnival Guild of Wales. We have achieved many championship firsts and also in NEMDCO we have acheived overall Senior troupe(2004)
JUNIOR'S
There has always been a Quay Coronet Junior troupe since 1971. Juniors are the back-bone of the Quay Coronets. It's ages have ranged from six yr olds to 15 yr olds. It's where girls are trained up and prepared to move up into the Senior line. It is also where the good young dancers go who have competed with much older girls and with some brilliant success.
Some of that success has been
UK CHAMPION JUNIOR TROUPE( at St Helens with NCA)
Carnival Guild of Wales Junior Champions on many occasions and recently
NEMDCO overall Junior Troupe of the year (2006)
BABIES
Well what can we say!!!
They are our entertainers! They are our roots without new babies each year Quay Coronets wouldn't have been around so long. We have had Babies from 18 months to 6 yrs but they grow, they learn, and they are the future Seniors
ALL WE ASK OF THEM IS :-
step one:- stay on the arena
step two:- keep hold of their shakers
step three:- leave their headbands on
And most important ENJOY THEMSELVES !!!!!!
